Over this past weekend I have noticed a rattle coming from what I thought was the passenger seat. It was only during hard acceleration or braking...it was a momentum rattle I suppose. Well I've looked under the seat and all around and could not find anything that was loose, even had a friend try to find it as I drove...no such luck. It seemed to get worse as the week wore on...but I think much of this was in my head...still it was driving me . Then I sat and tried to analyze the exact noise...it was sort of a muffled clang....a faint clang. Hmmm....as I was thinking I removed my sunglasses and placed them in the case inside the armrest box. As I was about to close the armrest lid...it hit me. To test my theory I started up the car and went for a ride with the lid opened.....sure enough it proved my theory was correct. I pulled back into my carport, removed the dollar in quarters that were standing in the upright positions in the coin slot and solved my rattle.

During acceleration and braking the coins would hit each other and it was muffled because it was under the lid. I had placed the coins in there last Friday.

I had the same rattle tormenting me, and eventually came up with the same fix! Oddly, it seemed to be more pronounced when someone was in the passenger seat...
