DIY front and side air intakes mesh upgrade. Under $20 in parts and end result is awesome. No bumper removal required, just unclip fins. Parts used are shown in photos. Just a few tweeks to side air intake mesh pattern to be the same. No big deal easily done just time required. I got the idea and know how from video attached. He also shows how to remove the fins. I used as pictured a sturdy flexible plastic mesh. Less chance of scratching car and easy to bend. I also used a metal coat hanger as he did but I also made some small hooking devices out of the metal coat hanger to grab the cable ties as I am not into crochet.馃槑

Nice work and good piece of mind I鈥檓 not as much worry on taking a radiator strike or sucking something into the intake.

(I鈥檓 still very curious about the fingernail polish )

Installed my DIY homemade side vent plastic grill today on the lower vent section facing the cooling fan. I think the OEM grill gaps are too large and allow leaves & debris in.
