I have an 06 Boxster S that was stock until this year.I really liked the car but there were a few things
that definitely needed some work to make it more perfect.First was a down load to add a little more
snap especially in the mid range.Problem solved. Note More power can never be enough unfortunately
but im happier as I dont track it, back to Function First. I found after 6 years of ownership that the shifting
performance was less that perfect,Kinda numb, hard to get in and out of gears sometimes and generally
not very confident shifting compared to other Porsches ive driven. Well I decided after lots of reading that
Function Firsts products may just be the ticket without going crazy $$. I ordered the shifter ends for the cables
and installed myself.Definately noticed that it took all the numbness from the shifting BUT there was still some room for improvement so I ordered and installed the shifter linkage kit.Wow! That was the ticket combined with the shifter ends
the shifting was not only not numb but also more direct and easier to shift.Luv it!!
I now have the "Orange" Transmission Mount inserts and they should be installed by tomorrow and will advise
what if anything has changed good or bad.But so far im really impressed with his products.
Im installing everything myself an so far so good. Im not a mechanic so its stretching my abilities but in the garage
but its definitely challenging but self rewarding to work on the car myself and I find im that much more in touch with
the car, how it works and reacts to everything.I think u have to be on these cars.
Just my unbiased views on a few things I have tried.

Learning to work on your own cars can be very rewarding. There will always be times of frustration and expenses of buying specialty tools, but it all gets easier with time.

I'm going to have to check and see if there have been any modifications to the shifter assembly in my car. Gear changes feel super crisp and the throw seems extremely short, but I haven't driven another manual Porsche in a few years for comparison.

Got the " Orange" Tranny mount installed today, took me all day, no car lift so that slowed the process down
a lot plus I was doing it by myself. I would say that im stretching my abilities on this one,if I was to do again I would take it to a shop
to do. Well on to the important info, what I noticed. Wow! Cars a lot louder in the cabin when your on the gas hard, definately more responsive to
throttle and steering input.Car feels tighter, shifts feel smooth and direct. The engine sounds angry,I love it.This is the way I
thought the car would be when I purchased it but Porsche dials them back I think to satisfy the people that want the look of a sports car but not a real sports car thats loud, vibrates ect.
At idle its sounds and feels the same up to say 3000 rpm and then u feel everything more. There is a lil more vibration but
I feel it exceptable. Im glad I didn't go for the yellow or black inserts as I dont track the car. Its plenty raw enough now for me.
Would I do again, definately! I think that after a few miles the rubber will give a little and may smooth things out a bit more but
time will tell, it may happen so slowly that I wont notice the change. So to sum it up I did the tranny insert, shifter cable ends and
shifter bushing kit from FUNCTION FIRST. Worth mentioning is after 140000 kilometres the suspension now feels mushy especially
after adding the tranny inserts, its made the shortcomings of the aging suspension more noticeable.
