Hey All,

Doing some mods (clear side markers and clear wind deflector installed) to the car but this is likely the biggest for now. Looking to hardware both my escort max as well as my dashcam to the fuse box. I’m just trying to figure out which would be the best fuse to tap into. Do not want to tap into anything critical on the car and that shuts on and off with car. My thoughts are:

1. Air conditioning control unit (7.5A)
2. Power window control unit (25A)
3. Garage door opener (5A)
4. Interior Mirror (5A)
5. Overhead console (5A)

Each device uses less than 1A and for what I’ve seen on YouTube, I can put both on the same fuse without an issue. I’m thinking the garage door opener, interior mirror or overhead console would be best candidates but would love some feedback.

I plan on recording my install to help others looking to do something similar.

I used add-a-fuse, tapped in an unused switched location in passenger well. I wish I could take credit, but found the info on another post. I have my max2 and waylens on it, running up the a-pillar

if you placing radar detector by the mirror - tap into mirror power right there. Simple and effective! Running those wires all the way around into the panel - adds absolutely nothing to the system. And a lot more work.

+1 for the Add a fuse. I use these all the time.

The cover to the fuse box has a small booklet on the inside.

Pick a few different ones, and find out which one provides power when the key is put into accessory mode.
