My 981C got tinted a couple of weeks ago and it looks like the tinting guy sprayed too much of the soapy solution and some of it got in the area between the third brake light and the rear glass on the hatch. I would like to remove the rear upper plastic lid surround and the third brake light in order to wipe off the soapy residue. Has anyone done this on their 981 Cayman? I've seen a DIY for a 987 Cayman here but none on the 981.

So weird, that happened to me also when getting the window tinted. Looked bad. I managed to use an auto trim wedge tool to get a credit card covered in eye glass cleaning cloth in there to wipe the residue and clean the glass. Worked really well, and didn't require removing all that trim (which I suspect is completely different to the 987 from the looks of things.)

good luck,
