Look at the brake calipers. Tracking will dull and darken the finish. Often the dust seals will show significant heat degradation and get brittle.

A PDK can be over revved in manual mode, correct?

No. Even in manual mode, it'll prevent you from downshifting into a range that would over-rev, and will impose a rev-limiter to prevent you from over-revving on acceleration.
