Internal Rear view Mirror

I have a weird one here. My rear view mirror on the windshield seems to be discolored or losing it's reflective edge. It is only on the very edge around of the mirror. Has anyone else experienced this! Can you replace just glass (it is not auto dimming) and if so, has anyone done this and can share how they did it? Also where did you buy the glass? Wonder what caused this, the car is always in the garage in So Ca.

Check a bone yard - see if you can get one out of a wreck...
Thank you! finding the mirror is not so much the issue. I found one at Suncoast. The issue is how to remove the section NOT attached to the windshield, the front portion. If anyone with a 07 service manual can give me this info or send jpg of the page, It would be most appreciated.
Anybody?? Any input or further suggestions?
Cantrax,

I ran across this some time ago, saved it to help fix my mirror. It's for a 2010 BS, but should be close.

Good luck.

On 981 mirror can be just snapped out. Look on the back picture here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Porsc...537967?hash=item3d85f6a16f:g:NOkAAOSweTFci-Jz

there are tabs grabbing the bolt, and then steel ring hodling it all together and creating tension. Don't know if it's the same on 987. And be carefull not too pull the whole thing off the windshield.
