Is there a way to change the designation for key #1 and key #2?
My key #1 is badly scratched up and I would like to swap the casing between the two so the cleaner key shows up as key #1.

I have tried taking apart the key fobs and swapping the circuit boards between the two. After the swap, the car correctly recognizes key #2 as key #1 when unlocking the car with the fob, but as soon as I stick the key in the ignition, the car immediately shows key #2.

I noticed that there is a small rectangular shaped black magnet looking thing on the logo side of the key. Do I have to swap that out also?

I suppose there is a reason for your concern. I've never paid any attention to which key I pick up.

I guess you need to reprogram them at the dealer!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can also link your seat/mirror settings with the specific key if you have the power seat option.

I dunno, maybe instead of monkeying with the key numbers you should just get that OCD checked out...
