Coming from a 981, I know it has a AGM type battery, but I also know that Li-Ion is gaining in popularity... then I saw this in the Porsche Charge-o-mat manual:
265315

So is anyone seeing a Li-Ion type of battery being offered on the configurator or simply coming in as standard equipment?

A Li-Ion battery has been available as an option for years. Saves ~15Kg, but costs $$$$$.(can’t recall if it was 1600 or 2600)

At that price then it won't be standard equipment on any car less than $200K, maybe not even then!

Although I have yet to read that there is a consensus on which one, I saw the Antigravity brand in the last Panorama, it looked promising for under $1000 US, but then found a number of dissenting votes here on the forum... Other than weight I guess it is best to leave this part of the car alone.

I installed a Odyssey PC680 (AGM) battery in my 06 CS and it's been working great. Have a AGM battery tender in the garage. Battery and tender about $150. Best part is battery weight reduction over 35lbs..
