Agreed with everyone regarding this specific car... Run and hide. If you want to stay under $40k, there are plenty of 987.2 CS out there that have been well maintained. If you're locked in on the Spyder, you're going to be at $60k for a prime example. I looked at both two years ago and ended up buying a 2010 CS. It's a fantastic car and way more practical than the Spyder (which I know none of us actually cares about). For example, the hatch can even accommodate two sets of golf clubs positioned behind each of the seats and doesn't cause any view obstruction.
