Will 18" turbo twists from a 986 Boxster fit on a 987.2 Cayman?

Wheels are 18x7.5", 50 offset F
18x9", 52 offset R

They will bolt up O.K. but the offsets are a little off. Stock is 57 F and 43 R . I'd look for the OEM Cayman S wheel.

Even if they would fit, they would be less than ideal. IIRC the 986 Boxster S used to come with 225 wide front tires.

For 18" track wheels go for a 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10 rears. The widths listed would be able to run either 235/40.18 or 245/40/18 fronts and 265/40/18 or 275/40/18 rears. Many of us have been running OZ Allegerita HLT's.

A cheap set of track wheels would be the stock 18" 5 spoke Cayman S Wheels from 2006-2007-2008 years. A much better choice than the Turbo Twists from a 986.2

Noticed that Bill already suggested the OEM 18" Cayman S wheel before I finished typing.

Thanks, guys. I figured they would not be THE ideal choice since offsets don't match up perfectly. But they are SO cheap that I thought I'd inquire anyway...

You don't think a 235 would fit on the 7.5 front wheels?

Look up the tire you are planning to use on the tirerack site. It'll tell what rim width can be used.

Conventional wisdom is that narrower wheels are slower for the same width tires (to a point). If this is for competition, I'd buy inexpensive lightweight aftermarket before the wrong size Porsche wheels. I went with OZ Allegerita, which are pretty reasonably priced and will give you the right size & offset.

I need a new set of track wheels and don't want to spend a fortune. Is there anything (aftermarket) else out there in the price range of and comparable to the OZs?

Where are you? I'm in TX, and will be selling my OEM 987.2 CS wheels shortly - great shape.
