Had five races against this McLaren 12C. The first three were a near tie, I clearly won the last two.
Very evenly matched on this tight of a track.

Up against a Ferrari 458 Spider. This guy was a good driver and one of the few people who was truly thrashing his supercar on the track.
But it's another example of where tight tracks favor the more nimble car. Without a doubt, my Boxster S was the lowest horsepower and probably the cheapest car out there.

Today's video was my 987S vs. a 992 GT3.
Not really a fair fight, as it was the GT3 driver's first time autocrossing.
But this is a perfect example of how money can't buy experience and that the nut holding the steering wheel is what matters most for speed.

Kudos to the 911 owner for not being afraid to put his $170k+ car through the paces; these cars are meant to be driven and it's never too late to learn.

The C8 Corvette was quick on the straights and slalom, but the 180 degree turns killed it. You could also tell that its tires were not quite up to the lateral g forces and weight.

Even when a car has a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution, mid engine cars have a lower polar moment of inertia and will turn easier.

This was a good pairing and seemed to have the most excitement from onlookers since it had the potential for an even battle.
I was slightly ahead of the 997 going into the last turn and then he popped a tire; a good reminder that street tires do not like hard driving on banked turns.

I was a bit apprehensive about the DEPO LED running lights / fog lights after seeing comments about the housing protruding from the bumper; not many online pictures fully captured this.

I found an opened box return set on ebay for $120, so figured I'd give them a shot.

Overall, I am very pleased. Factory-like fitment, decent light output, and a fresh appearance that I personally think makes the 987 look a generation newer.

The face of these housings do protrude from the bumper by about 1/2 inch, but this doesn't look out of place with my setup.
I also removed the chrome bezels, so they're a little less eye-catching and blend in with the radiator grilles.

I have the same LED running lights. The fact that they slightly protrude actually saved me from more expensive front end damage in a minor accident. Two years ago, while pulling out of a parking space, between two SUVs, someone in a van suddenly drove right in front of me. The passenger side of my bumper hit the van broadside, just above their driver door sill. I could immediately see the dent in the van. Getting out of my car, I was ready to see significant damage to my bumper cover. I was relieved to see that there wasn’t a scratch on my bumper and a slight dent in the right LED driving light cover. I bought a new set of the driving lights, replaced the one that was damaged, and good as new. That slight protrusion saved the day.

How did you remove the chrome bezels?
How did you remove the chrome bezels?
Mine were held on with a double sided tape. I stuck a plastic bone tool behind an edge and pried it up.
It can be easy to damage that chrome bezel in the process, but I wasn't concerned since I threw them away afterwards.
