Was driving in a real hot day. Suddenly got the "low coolant" warning. Long story short, the car is leaking coolant instantly. Any coolant that is put in is instantly leaked.

After attempting to find the source, I see its this part (attached). It's right in front of the AOS. It has Wassereintritt written on it.

Anyone know what's that? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434931665.771765.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434931709.576806.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434931773.812667.jpg

Is your Boxster a 986 or 987? I can't find that part on the 987 parts diagram.

987. I found this image on Google.

I think it is part number 928 574 573 03; the parts diagram calls it "disc valve." It is on page 70.

I think that is the valve used to regulate heater output. Haven't gone looking for it on a 987 but the appearance looks familiar. Could be wrong though. At least will give you a starting point in parts to verify.

I think that's right. Thank you so much Boiler Inspector.

I guess so Greywolf. It even has a 928 part number.

Looks like Boiler Inspector nailed it. Appears to be unique to the tiptronic. Part of the cooling loop for it. Must have been repurposed.

Out of curiosity I kept looking. Didn't find a heat control valve anywhere so maybe it is still used for that. I just didn't see the tie in. Obviously I'm not going to be a Porsche parts guy.
