Hello,

I have a 2001 Boxster with the Porsche/Becker CDR-220 head unit. I have NO problems with this stereo and I have NO desire to replace it with an aftermarket unit. I don't have the CD changer installed: only the amplifier in the front trunk.

I listen to lots of DJ mixes which are too long to fit on a CD. As far as I can see there are no seamlessly integrated CD changers which can play MP3 CDs. What I would like to do is see if there are any options for an MP3 "jukebox" that isn't based on the iPod.

All that I have found is a cable which would allow me to hook up an MP3 player to the rear inputs. That won't work because I want something that will allow me to use the head unit to select next track, previous, fast forward, etc.

So am I forced to use an iPod if I want to have MP3 playback through the CDR-220? Are there other options?

thanks!
