G'Day All,

Just finalised my order today. Build in Nov - ship to Aus in Feb/March.

I have been a track fanatic for a while and gave up my TTS and are now carless for almost a month so far with many months to go.

:(

Hard to see the TTS go but it has served me well for many years, was fast and stuck to the road. But hearing those Porsches at the track all the time the mystique became too much. When I saw the 3.8 come out for the new Spyder I decided to act. A bit earlier than I wanted to - but like the GT4 they won't be around to order for too long and as I guess and the 911 confirmed - the days of big NA engines is running out. Also looking forward to a third pedal again.

I am going with GT Silver and the Spyder Classic interior pack. Australia delivered cars come very high specced as standard so only added a few things needed like full bucket seats, dimming mirrors, tinted tail lights and aluminium pedals and other misc things like model delete on the rear and a reversing camera (reluctantly) as there is no acoustic park assist at the rear. Asked pretty please not to get the Pirelli crap-zero's put on the wheels and Michelin or Yoko's instead and the R spec tyres too - but no promises there.

Cars are not cheap is Aus so coming in over $200K AUD is not nothing, 40K of that luxury car taxes. But my stock from work has gone up a lot recently and is enough to pay it out and/or use the mortgage since interest rates are sitting at 4% and well, YOLO.

Wife is not happy. But that is to be expected whenever anything that as a man I find remotely enjoyable comes into question, drinking with mates, casino, cars, going to the footy, sleeping on couch, scratching groin.

Cheers!

This was such a funny quote and so true even from the other side of the world. Know exactly how you feel.

Congrats on the car.

I am so thankful for my wife- she is 100% on board with anything that makes me happy, including ordering this new Porsche.

My wife is on board with it now.... That I've worked my *** off my entire life! She might not have been when I was 24 years old. Unless by some chance I had won the Lottery back then. At 62 she couldn't say much. She knows I've been itching for this a long time. I finally got to scratch it!

When I was 24 years old, my wife would have been in elementary school. I don't think she would have minded me getting a Porsche at that time either.

Over $200k with $40k in taxes is totally mind boggling! But that Spyder is sweet. Congrats!
My new Macan Turbo just cost me $84k, all cash out the door after discount, and taxes were $5k of that.

Ouch.

I hope the wife will mellow after a road trip in the Spider!
