Hello All,

I've just experienced my first potential issue with my '03 Boxster S. After a trip to the car wash for a through clean-up before putting it Christmas eve, the car dropped significant power and was running as if it was down a cylinder but did manage to limp it home. Gave it some time to dry out and still running rough as a bear. Check the codes and came up with P0344 Camshaft position sensor. Should mention it just turned 50k miles. Any insights? Was just tooling around town when it happened. Most likely the sensor or potentially something more serious? She didn't over heat, solid oil pressure, no leaks? Any insight beforee sending her out ot be looked at would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!

Hello.

The first thing I would do is a compression test to see if the camshaft timing is correct. If the compression is low then I would expect something went wrong mechanically. Let's hope that's not the case.

I'm curious to know how this turns out.

Best of luck.
