Wild!! Wonderful job you're doing in a garage, and your car will certainly stand out from the crowd of boring grey/silver Porsches...

I'm curious, your paint surface quality looks excellent, in the photos there is no sign of dust or surface imperfections. I assume that's because of a very clean (washdown?) garage and the ventilation you're doing. Are the fans doing positive or negative ventilation? And I assume hazardous materials mask is being worn....

Outstanding job. Dunno that it's what I'd do - but I think you have a vision for the car and are going to achieve it.

It is negative pressure and the surface does have particulates in it after paint but then i wet sand, after clear but then i wet sand and then buff. I still have to give it all a really good buff but I'm waiting till warmer weather so the paint can fully cure and harden.

I do have masks and supplies to do the best that could be expected in a barn. I also after years of painting my own cars with cheap paint guns bought a divillbless paint gun... wow.. its hard to paint bad with a gun like that.

With the mechanical mods, sound mods and cosmetic mods I'm doing/done.. I'm liking it.

I love that neon green color! Lots of muscle cars and exotics alike have used a similar color for many years. Did you ever consider doing a wrap, or were you just looking for a nice paint project from the start?

wow that looks like a lot of hard work! good surface prep too.
just curious what colour your went with for your brakes? was it the yellow or in a matching colour combo?
Brakes are staying yellow. I color matched the calipers for my last Porsche 911 but this one.. I don't have the energy to pull them off right now.

Pics below are of that.

Your disassembly is admirable. My dad traded a favor for my Fiat paint job. He had me strip it clean. When it came back I understood why disassembly is correct. Almost no taping, no oopsie swirls on taillights or headlights from sloppy DA work, no overspray on gaskets. Very nice job you're doing, nice winter connection with the car project too, those are always great.

100%. ya taping off just makes for so many fixes needed vs disassembly. Its time consuming to strip a car down but way worth the reward. I'm getting ready to tackle a really cool BMW for someone and he's getting some $ knocked off for helping me strip it down lol the painting actually happens relatively quick compared to all the elbow work needed.

Thanks

The car looks great. since you have things apart, are you doing any upgrades/replacements?
I did all of that last winter. full exhaust which included beluge racing catback and cat delete equal length race headers, clutch, suspension, IPD plenum and throttle body, Softronics tune(not a fan of theirs), short shift, frt and rr sway Ebauch sway bars, control arm bushing, frt headlights and rr tail lights along with the front and rear aftermarket bumpers.

All that and all the money spent... why didn't i get an S 😟 its still to slow.. not complaining as its still an amazing car but i might.. might turbo it.

Painted on door and a few small pieces for the porsche. Only thing left to do is paint the front bumper and passenger door.

"Can’t wait to see the finished product! It’s gonna make us green w envy! 😉"

thanks!! I'm really enjoying it.

This is the stuff that makes these threads most worthwhile. The DIY stuff, finding help with weird issues and these awesome projects that we all dream of doing ourselves and seeing someone else DO them. Yeah. can't get enough and can't wait to see the final pics as well!
I can't agree with you more. some get upset with modding our cars.. there just cars and we should all just enjoy them however it makes you smile(y)
