We are planing a holiday road trip in July & August 2010 starting in Seatlle and ending in Los Angeles, we have been offered a rental RV, but its Diesel powered, is diesel fuel readily available, or only in truck stops? The plan so far includes a week at Pebble Beach and that's about it, so help with things to do and see would be great.
Thanks Bob

The backbone of America is diesel trucks. So as long as you plan your trip around truck stops you are good to go but there are also more alternatives available. They are usually not to hard to find. A good GPS can locate them as can a service like AAA. This is somewhat off topic but also applies to the region you are visiting so I'll move it to that area in the hope that locals will be helpful. Have fun.

Plenty of diesel available.also if you use Petro or Flying J etc etc i believe that they have free dumps for your Grey water and black water holding tanks. The monterey historics in Monterey to coincide with the Pebble Beach visit would be cool in august.Jog on over to Hi-way one on the way down or back and see Hearst Castle. Lots to see and do around those neck of the woods.Again lots of gas stations also carry deisel down here because lots of folks have pick-ups powered by it.
