Base Boxster with PDK, Sport Chrono Plus. We think Boxster with PDk has decent power
1) Exterior : White
2) Interior : Cararra Red Leather with rear console exterior color, cupholder trim in white
3) Sport Exhaust
4) PCM, Heated seats, 18" wheels, BT, Ipod,Xm, crest on head rest, and storage area,
5) Steering wheel with paddle shifters
6) Adaptive seats with Xenons
7) LSD

I would add adaptive sport seats. Don't upgrade the wheels and spend the money on PASM.

I'm a big fan of safety and believe that the Xenon option will increase safety, so if I were you, that would be first on my list (after PDK) :)

Sorry,
Forget to mention that he is going to get Xenons . LSD and also adaptive seats.

Was thinking of 18" wheels ,for the wider rubber 265 vs 235 in rears for better traction

Nice color combination. May I suggest you do aluminum trim for both the cupholder and the rear console, rather than the white body color trim? I think it would be less of a shocking contrast than the white trim and add a touch of class to the brilliant Carrera Red interior.

Definitely ditch the sport exhaust. Nice sound but no real performance benefit. If you still want a better looking tailpipe, you are better off getting the "sport tailpipe" (which provide twin round outlets).

The 17 inch wheels have improved in appearance compared to past years - but you will wind up wanting bigger wheels (e.g., 18" or 19"), as happened to me. The fatter sidewalls with the 17's take a little getting used to and while giving a somewhat cool retro look from some angles, look a little narrow in the wheelhouses. If you ever drive the car in sub-45 degree, snow or icy weather, at some point in the future you probably should have a set of both your bigger "show wheel" with the summer tires, and 17's with winter tires.

PASM is nice if you are taking the car to the track or are getting 19" wheels, which ride harsh on bad pavement without PASM. PASM provides a very nice non-sport setting as well as the more extreme sport setting. PASM is needed with 19-inch wheels, and is nice for the 18's but not essential in my opinion. But many may disagree with me over that.

Get the self-dimming mirrors - you will not regret it during night driving, unless safety is a secondary concern. On a low car like the Boxster (or Cayman), they really should be standard.

To get PCM, you will be required to order (at the minimum) Sound Package Plus. I'd actually go one step further and order the Bose package - in the case of the Boxster, the bass subwoofer is behind the seat and as I understand, works better out the door than in the Cayman (in other words, no need to stuff the subwoofer with pillow foam). Lots of folks argue that the only soundtrack they need is the Flat 6 Symphony :), but you're looking to do XM, universal audio, etc. so I figure you enjoy your Muzak / wall of sound / hip-hop / talk radio as well.

Have fun figuring this stuff out.

Looks good though I'm still one of those who would buy the manual transmission, but that's a different debate :hilarious: and it is true that PDK can shift faster than most of us humans and so makes the car faster. And I guess no PDK would also mean no LSD. But the thing is I'd skip the LSD if the car is strictly a street car as it is just something else to wear/tear if you don't need it, and I can't help but think anyone driving on the street that really needs a LSD is probably not being safe and should take it to the track. At any safe street speed the car handles fine without it.

I'd also skip the sports exhaust personally. AFAIK it makes a different sound but there is no claim that it adds power.

p.s. agree on this style point.

If it were my order I would skip some of the fluff, and order a S, 6 Speed, LSD, Sport Chrono, 18" wheels and standard seats. Having said that, options are a very personal choice and your brother should get what ever he wants! "Life is not a dress rehearsal"
