A few suggestions for all new members:

- This forum is to tell people you're here, and perhaps BRIEFLY describe your car. Posting technical stuff here is not too productive since that stuff is model-specific - and people tend to stick to the model they own and answer questions in the model-specific forum for their model.

- Making your posting easier to read will garner more useful replies. When I see a wall of text - my mind blanks out and I move on to something else. Paragraph breaks are a GOOD THING, and totally free! Also when you have multiple questions to ask - starting a thread on each question (if it involves different parts of the car) also helps to get responses.

- Titling your posting correctly helps. Include the year/model in the title - that attracts people with the same car. Include a hint of what you're asking in the title - that attracts subject matter experts.

- Spelling and punctuation count. Making it easy to read and understand helps get answers. Grammarly has a FREE version of their software - works in any browser on a PC. grammarly.com - works great, I won't write without it.

- Also - if replying to threads - you might check the date of the last posting on the thread. Replying to ancient long-dead threads is known as necro-posting.. it's a bit frowned upon since it often means the reply is being made by a web-bot trying to post spam. It wastes the moderator's time in checking if it's a legit posting. That's NOT to say never do it - certainly if a specific thread exactly addresses an issue you have, feel free to comment but avoid general comments to a necro-thread.

FINALLY - Porsche never made a model called "Base" - that's a convention that seems to have started with the internet. It's simply wrong. There is NO BASE MODEL. In the case of a 987.2 for instance, there are Boxster 2.9L PDK, there is a Cayman 2.9L 6x, there is a Boxster S and a Cayman S (which have a 3.4L engine.) There is no BASE. I'm going to spend a bit of time and correct some of the post titles.. for some reason I think it's demeaning to call any Porsche "base".. there is no such thing.

Thanks for reading!
