Porsche Cayman 981 / 718 Bike Rack® 2013 and Newer Cayman, Cayman S, Cayman GTS. The Solution Beyond a Trailer Hitch.

The Bird Automotive Porsche 981 , 718 Cayman, Cayman S and Cayman GTS Bike Rack is shown installed in the provided Receiver Pipes in the picture on the right. The two Pipes serve as receivers for all versions of the Rack in a manner similar to trailer hitch racks seen on SUV's. They are 1 1/4" diameter, painted black and are intentionally inconspicuous. Nearly invisible in the picture below, they are located to the left and right of the factory tailpipes, recessed behind the Bumper and tailpipes. The Boxster Bicycle Rack carries one, two or three bikes. Golf Bag Carrier, Luggage Rack, Ski Rack and Snowboard Rack Options are available. When not in use, the Rack is easily removed in a couple of minutes and can be stored in the front trunk/boot.

Installation requires less than an hour, no cutting, no drilling.

Arms are height adjustable to level bikes. Carries up to 75# (35 kilos).

Arms fold in flat and are individually removable.

Rack easily removed in a couple of minutes

The 981 718 Cayman hatch opens fully without restriction.

Rack stores easily in the front trunk

Straps from inside the Trunk pass under the spoiler and attach to Rack. Paint on Trunk and Spoiler is Protected.

Installation of the Receiver Pipes requires removal and reinstallation of four bolts under the Boxster located to the rear of the engine. Accomplished in under an hour by anyone of average mechanical ability, installation requires no special tools or modifications to the car. Thorough illustrated instructions are provided; about half our customers install themselves.

As one customers told us, "my bike's worth more than my car so this lock better work!" An exaggeration perhaps, but we understand. The Security Kit consists of two long-shanked padlocks (same keys) and a heavy duty vinyl coated straight steel cable. The first lock goes through a hole in the Pea Shooter (receiver) Pipe and the Leg of the Rack, locking the Rack to the car. The cable goes through the bikes' frames and one or both wheels of each bike. The cable padlocks to both ends of the cable and a hole through the Leg, locking the bikes to the Rack.
A Customer Writes to Say Thanks
From Texas: Sam, I received and installed your Boxster bike rack and want to congratulate you on an excellent job. It is very well engineered and constructed. It fits great and works so well I can honestly say it is the best bike rack I have ever owned by far. You have thought of everything to make sure it will last from o-ring seals to keep water out of the tubes and to help alignment, lock nuts on key components, adjustable handles to make sure there is no interference with a bike, the right thickness tubes, great hardware, excellent protection for the car with sleeves to protect paint and velcro pads to protect the inside, and excellent protection for the bike.
