Hello,
I've been lurking for a few months and finally ready to pull the trigger on a new to me Cayman. I am having trouble finding a car with the right options/color/price. I will be getting a PDK and one of my absolute must haves is the Sport Design Steering wheel as I much prefer the paddle shifters to the buttons on the standard and multi function wheel. I know it is possible to upgrade the wheel, and I found a post a while back that mentioned it should cost somewhere in the ballpark of $2000 to swap it out.
My question is, on the multi function wheel, since the extra functions are built into the wheel instead of the extra stalk behind the wheel, if I upgrade to the Sport wheel, do I need to add the extra stalk? I'm looking at Suncoast, and see several options on the Sport Design wheel, with heating/ without heating and with multifunction/ without multifunction. If you choose the option that your car has multifunction, the wheel costs more. Is this because the extra stalk is included? I just want to make sure if I buy a car without the Sport Design wheel, that I can upgrade it and still retain all the functionality (obviously it won't be on the wheel itself, and will be on a seperate stalk, but it does most of the same things and I don't want to lose that).
I'm being picky on a few options that are must haves for me, hence why I'm having trouble finding a car. I'm looking for the following options:
Sport Design steering wheel
Navigation
Bose
Heated and Ventilated seats
Power 14 way seats
I'm open to color options, except for black (too hot and too hard to clean), red (my car now is red and need a change) and yellow (only color I'm not much a fan of on Caymans personally). But I'm finding because the options I'm looking for lean toward the luxury side as opposed to the sporty side, most of the cars that have ventilation/bose/nav have the multifunction wheel. This car for instance ticks all my boxes except for the wheel, and if I can upgrade the wheel without losing out on any functionality for around $2000ish, then this solves the problem.

This is another that is close. It has the right wheel, and all the options I want, except it does not have seat ventilation. I'm in Texas so I'd really like to have it if possible, but my car now is on it's last legs and so I'd like to find something within a few weeks and if the wheel swap isn't feasable then I suppose I can live without it.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice!
