I was at my dealer today for an PCA inspection prior to a DE in two weeks. When the service manager was entering the info he saw that, at least, all 2007 CS 6spds have been recalled to replace the clutch master slave unit. He didn't have the part, but ordered same for me. Also, the salesman told me that all of their Caymans on shore at Brunswick, GA are on hold for a "Quality control check".
As an aside, while waiting I drove a new Carrera S, 6spd, PASM, Sport chrono, etc. Really nice, but I'm not convinced it's worth 20k more than a CS. all the interior bits, etc., are pretty much the same. On the road, it does have a little more "umph" than the CS but feels heavy. I really didn't notice a lot of difference with the PASM and Sport switched on. Under acceleration, the sound is much different with the windows down since the CS intake is so close. I think the CS sounds much better. The Sport exhaust may sound different if you're outside the car, but I couldn't discern it inside. I left telling the salesman that I think I'll wait until I can swing a Turbo! The one catch is that all their '08 Turbos except one for May delivery, are sold.
