Good Day! I'm Alex - Customer Support Specialist at SOUL! I I daily drive a 987.1 Cayman S and drive a 944 SP2 race car in PCA. I grew up as an avid musician, and as I got into the automotive world I became very fixated on engine tones and sound. I have always wanted to upgrade the driving experience of my Cayman to make everyday driving more exhilarating. After doing some research I found SOUL.

Before I worked at SOUL I installed the Performance Exhaust on my 987.1 S and I was astonished by how much it changed the driving experience. It made the car sound like a GT3. There was no drone and I felt fully in control on how aggressive I wanted it to sound. I loved being able to hear more of the engine's tone . After running the exhaust for a few months I knew I wanted more. After exploring the options I decided that catless headers would be the perfect upgrade for me. I was slightly nervous that I would lose the control I had over the loudness like how I did with the Performance Exhaust alone. I finally got my new SOUL Competition Headers and had them installed on the car. At first start up I realized that it still had no drone and it still had that crisp GT3 sound it had before just with a little more “oomph”. After a week or so of running the headers, I am obsessed to say the least. It is perfect at highway speeds, aggressive driving speeds, idle and even when I am just cruising around the neighborhood at 25mph. I don’t have to worry about waking up my neighbors but I can still produce that badass race car sound when I get on it. I feel that the combination between the Performance Exhaust and the Competition Headers is perfect for a street car. I can drive normally while still being able to show off a bit when I want. I couldn’t be happier. Give us a call if you have any questions about upgrading your 987.1 and we'll make you a believer!

Does anyone know if Soul street (cats) headers with stock exhaust will pass a 92db track day at Laguna Seca? Thank you in advance.

I have soul street 200cel catalyst headers on stock rear section with a soul X pipe and its not louder than stock by much at all.

Cannot imagine it would fail.

I'd fall over if it did.

It was so quiet I just got the entire rear section to wake it up.

Very interesting, this could be the best of three worlds for me.
Correct my check engine light for failing cats
A little more noise than stock
And still be able to do track days at Laguna Seca.

Remember, you could just have dying oxygen sensors..... you can do a dutametric diagnostic on the o2's to determine that.....

Or, balls out replace everything.
I did all 4 oxygen sensors and the headers, so ruled it all out.

Rear section install as we type...

I'm considering installation of a Soul Street Package on my 2008 987.1, however I'm concerned that it may be too loud for my tastes. My interest in the package are it's increased engine performance and reduced weight. This is the quality of exhaust that my Boxster S deserves, but Porsche couldn't afford to put it into their budget package. Anyway, I like to fly under the radar except when I'm at the track, and although I appreciate the sound of a flat 6, I don't want to wake my neighbors. Soul has suggested that I just install the exhaust manifold and stick with the stock exhaust. I'm considering that option, but that would give up a bit of the power and a lot of the weight savings and let's face it, this isn't a cheap mod. I have watched the videos on the Soul site, but I'm interested in opinions of those who have installed the package. At light to moderate throttle levels, is it loud? I know that's subjective, but I would be comparing it with stock, non-sports exhaust. Thought/opinions appreciated.

Headers and rear section is loud.
Especially if you put your foot into it.

X pipe and headers will make better power (soultronic tune as well) and you won't have the cops called every time you cold start.

I did stock

Then just x pipe

Then headers and x pipe

Then the fullfrikkinmonty.
It's loud.
But not fart can loud..... you will piss people off.
Especially if they are law enforcement.
