Hi all,

First post here - be gentle :)

I'm looking to purchase a 981CS in about May/June timeframe, and so am mulling over options as it'll be a second-hand model so I don't have the luxury of choosing my own options.

One I noticed at the dealer when getting into a nice 911 they had there (to check the seat options) was that the alcantara steering wheel felt awesome. However, i'm guessing it's not likely to be high up on the list of options specced by previous owners. The option price isn't too bad, but I guess there's more to it than just getting handy with a spanner? i.e. is it a possibility for DIY replacement? or does the presence of airbags and sensors which need resetting negate this from being a DIY job? (or are they just unplug/plug?)

Thanks,
Mike.

There are few well known places in US and one in UK where you can rewrap your steering wheel completely to your likings for $200-400. It'll be better than factory, any materials and design you want. So get the car you want, and rewrap steering wheel on it!
