Has anyone changed their stereos in their Cayman? What have you done?(pics?). I contacted car toys and they said I needed a custom built one because of the design. Mine is the sound plus package, but I hate the damn small buttons to change the station. And I hate the fact there is no aux jack for my ipod. Pics would be great to see what you have done!

Thread moved to Electronics forum - as Greywolf said, there are lots of threads in this forum of aftermarket headunit installs. Hint: look for the "paperclip" icon next to thread title for threads with pics attached.

You will probably need to get a double din bezel kit yourself, since your local car stereo place probably won't know where to get one. They are sold by Suncoast: Double Din Radio Kit, and one vendor on ebay; you can find the link in this thread:

I have an '08 Boxster with the sound package plus. I yanked the stock head unit and replaced with a simple aftermarket head unit. The big change was bypassing the factory amp, using a robust aftermarket amp and changing the cross over point on the 8" subs in the doors that are specific to the Sound Package Plus system. It was well worth the effort and the 8's have excellent output in the doors.

Here is the link to my upgrade:

I did my '09 Boxster last summer.

The Kenwood is using the Porsche amp. The installers found a VW connector did the trick. Very happy with the change. I now have a 16gb USB stick plugged in to the system for MP3 files and I just leave it there. They have gotten pretty cheap in the last couple of weeks. I think it cost about $30 on Amazon.

One caveat, make sure your phone is compatible with the blue tooth - check their web site - turned out I have phone issues.
