More and more frequently, when I use the auto up to raise the passenger window from a completly open position, it stops a little past halfway, then goes down a half inch. I am able to close it only by holding the switch in the manual mode.

It's a 2007 CS, still under warranty, but dealer is two hours away.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Check the manual, but I believe there is a procedure to "reset" the settings on the windows using the window buttons.

this happened to me recently as well. after searching on the forums here, i found there are 3 things that can be done.
1) make sure the window is clear of debris
2) "reset" the window by holding the "up" position for a few seconds
3) take it to the dealer who will investigate, and possibly replace the window motor

i cleaned my window inside and out, inside the crevice, seals, and everything, and it still did it. tried resetting the window but to no avail. i took it to the dealer, who then, took apart the door, greased everything and then it started working. they did say if it happened again, they'll have to keep it b/c i assume they're going to replace that window motor.

good luck!
