Started to notice it two days ago. Sometimes (not often), typically in very low speeds, the rear of the car make noise that sounds like a series of mechanical clicks. Very noticeable. Then it stops and everything is just fine.

This morning I captured it with the car's camera. Notice the background noise after I turn the radio off.

Any idea what it may be?

TI have a dealer appointment schedule for tomorrow, to fix squeaking driver seat so I will mention it as well.

The car is 981 CS MT6 with PASM and PTV.

Interested to know if you determined what the problem is. Did you get this resolved? A colleague of mine has a 981 Cayman and described a similar symptom that occurs just before the car comes to a stop under normal braking.

Boxsters, Carreras and 928s all have transaxles.

The latter has a torque tube from the front engine to the rear.

So same fluid for both the tranny and differential? That's the techincal definition of transaxle. Many people think the Corvette has a transaxle just because both are at the back, but they're separate units bolted together, with separate fluids. Being RWD, I was almost sure Porsche had transaxles for both cost and space savings. I'd simply change the fluid more often, especially with LSD (PTV), since its clutches contaminate the fluid. Thank you for your help.
