<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt">I don’t think there’s been one of these yet so, by way of introducing myself, I thought I’d start one.

My name is (obviously) John Boggiano and, if I’m really lucky, there might be a handful of you who recognise my name as, recently, I’ve been writing for Total 911 Magazine.

For the last 16 or so years, my wife and I owned and ran a pharmacy but, following the development of MS by Paula, we sold it and now we sort of dabble with this and that. I’m pleased to say that all of Paula’s kit (wheelchairs, walking frame…) fit nicely in the rear of the Cayman.

I have owned a 1990 911 (964 Carrera 2) since 1994, but now have a Cayman S on order – expected delivery date is late March. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the 911, but I’ll run both together for a time while deciding. It should make for an interesting time. Expect to see comparisons of the Cayman versus various types of 911 appearing in print in the next few months. Apparently, Porsche aren’t too fond of this sort of thing, but at Total 911, we are fearless! I think…

So that's me - what about you..?

John,

Thanks for the introduction, let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you in articles for your magazine. I'll write something up on myself later as I'm traveling at the moment and don't have any extra time. Welcome to the club!

John,

It is nice to have you on board! Here in Hawaii we are still behind the times as I just picked up the most recent issue of Total 911 at Barnes & Nobles Booksellers and it is dated November. I would subscribe if I thought I could get issues any sooner. Perhaps I will email them and ask.

I will look for you in my next issue!

Aloha Russ

Thanks, Russ.

The whole 'overseas' supply is something we are looking at. We need to improve the costs and the time-lag. Watch this space...

I'll play too. My name is Wes Zane and as you might guess from my user name, I currently own an 1989 911 Speedster. I got into Porsche about 3-4 years ago and immediately joined the PCA. I always wanted a Porsche but for some reason, I had a pre-conceived notion of these cars being problematic and unreliable. I now know that P-cars are some of the best daily drivers out there.

i have been sitting on the fence for several months now, torn between a 993 and the Cayman, while in angst about selling the Speedster or my FX35. The wife of course doesn't understand why I would need 2 two seaters and thinks we need a family car. So being smack dab in the middle of mid-life crisis, I put the Infiniti up for sale. Unfortunately, the deals on both the 993 and the FX35 fell thru . . . so I took that as a sign of the croc.

After viewing pics of a basalt black cayman, the lust got the better of me so I finally plunked down a deposit on a new Cayman and even ordered special plates, 0260N5 (zero to sixty in five). I'll be doing my build specs in a few days, still contemplating the exterior and interior color. I'd love to see RussK's cobalt blue gator to see how it looks in the metal. But this is the introductions thread and I have digressed long enough. . . .

I'm in the restaurant business in Hawaii, own a wine bar and planning a second location in 2006. Used to obsess over watches then one day I realized I could buy a car with one of my timepieces. . . . . thus the signature below. This site has been a lot of fun, thanks to the K-Man and all of you who make up this cyber Cayman community. Merry Christmas to all !!

Speedy,

I'm begining to think that there is a fine line between mental illness and mental health. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/crazy.gif/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif
I've always been a little crazy, but it helps keep me from going insane.

It's good to hear your comments about Porsche cars not being as unreliable and problematic as many have thought. I hope my experience turns out like yours.

Wes,

I like your plates! You will have unique car with plates to match! It is going to be fun knowing that there is another Cayman right down the street! When mine gets here I will bring it by.

FWIW, after 6 years of daily enjoyment, I'm selling my (beloved) 993 & buying a Cayman. If everything we've read is half true, I think we'll both be happy w/our decisions.

LizardS aka Dan, that is good to know that you're coming from a 993, beloved at that! Makes my decision seem to be the right one as well.

RussK, yep, bring it by, I'd love to see BLUG8R. Be sure to call first an make sure I'm in.

Cheers!
