I have one of the EFI 3.8 motors. All I can say is the customer support and the motor are both awesome. Duane and his team have been great and I can't say anything but terrific things about the motor and my experiences.

I have suggested this idea on a few threads. Either put a 3.6 crank in a 3.8 (with custom pistons) or bore/sleeve a 3.6 to 3.8 spec bore. Real interested to see how the results.
