I just want to run this past you guys in case I'm about to make a big mistake. See picture below of my old and new throw out bearing. I'm assuming the "wear disc" on the new bearing was is supposed to be on the old one as well, and it disintegrating may be what caused my clutch to suddenly **** the bed. I can see where the pressure plate was wearing on the steel backing plate, but I know it's not a good practice for metal on metal rotating parts. I can't really say what material it is, seems kind of like graphite/composite. I want to make sure its not actually a cover/protector which should be removed before installation. Confirmation would be appreciated
