^ those tires still look good. You can run them to the cords. Obviously need to be careful if you drive to/from track on them. The Bridgestone RE-71 is becoming very popular. But I still like the NT01 better.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R is nominally the replacement for the RE-11 and has a 200TW rating, so technically its Extreme summer rather than R compound like NT01. That said many feel it is as fast as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 on the GT4 (and cheaper). On my Cayman R I thought that they were similar grip to the NT01 and wore out about as fast- 5 to 6 track days or 20-25 heat cycles. If you go through a lot of tires they may be worth a try to see what you think. For driving to/from track with a chance of rain, the RE-71 when newish has more pronounced tread than an NT01 so for some that may be a consideration too. Or you could just go to Hoosier R-7. Many DE champs swear by them:hilarious:

It never ends. There is always a faster car. GT3, ZR1, Camaro ZL1, Mclaren... Just drive your line, improve your craft, and forget about those posers with 50% more hp while they get out and walk em around the corners and then dart down the straights.

Just get a good set of ADVAN 050 (soft or medium) - they work well in Australian conditions, are easy to get, sensibly priced and are OK to and from the track - have a look at 295s for the rear (with appropriate rims). They also last well.

I wouldn't worry about the other cars, ultimately they are only as fast as the driver and a well driven GT3 will wipe the floor with a well driven Boxster - c'est la vie :)

Just out of interest I noticed non of the vehicles had tow or battery markers? so was this a Porsche drive day - as it couldn't have been under CAMS. If thats the case you are better off with a CAMs affiliated P club. You can then enter a race series and have a ton of fun - more importantly the groups are sent out on the basis of seeded times - which keeps it both interesting and safe. Good to see you having fun!

Nice video. I also like to mount my GoPro camera in the same location, but the wind noise is overwhelming at anything over 40 MPH. A dead kitten muffles some of the harsh whipping sounds, but doesn't eliminate the whoosh. I might try an external mic, but that's another $100-$200 in adapters and mics and cords, not to mention I don't like the idea of draping wires all over the car (for safety or aesthetics or swirl marks). Has anyone come up with a better solution?

Tyres are 245/40/18 rear are 275/?/18 nitto NT01's wheels are victor wheels
Sorry tyres are stacked up in the garage makes it hard to read

Best thing I ever did buying them and I look forward to getting another set.
My wife and I both do the track day she goes out in the slow group and me in the fast group so the car run all day long. This also enable us to take 2 cars to the track so I put these in the back of my TRD Hilux and swap them over at the track so no road driving on them.
Lemans Porsche Wheels by Victor Equipment

Wheels are a bit heavy but they do the job and they are cheap

I think from memory the tears are also 40's

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any issues with stock PSM & ABS with those tires? (The diameters are around ~2.5% smaller to stock)
No issues at all as my research showed as long as all 4 wheels are equal there wasn't a problem.

I have done a bunch of track days check out my YouTube page and no problem at all
