I came here to browse for recommendations on roll bars, but noticed no one has posted times on my favorite road course

This is in a 2011 2.9L stock Cayman. I'm pretty slow. I feel the car is easily capable of sub 1:30s
Sorry to venture off topic. How do you like RE-71Rs on the track? The amount of grip is appealing, but I fear they will overheat...
Cutting and pasting my post from another forum where I discussed the same issue:
2012 Cayman R, stock suspension, -1.5 camber up-front. I've run Nitto NT01's, Dunlop Direzza II, and now RE71Rs. I run in DE's and hillclimbs.
Direzza's: amazing durability considering the good traction. I'd say one of the better tires if ultimate grip is not your goal, but good tire life, predictable break away. Tolerant of camber challenged cars. I ran 10+ DEs, 4 hillclimbs, a few autox's, drove to all the events, tires still had plenty of life at the end of the season.
NT01: excellent wear for an R-comp, predicable, good grip but definitely a '2nd' tier R-comp. 4 hillclimbs (one HC was a 900 round trip from my home), some autox, a few trackdays, had plenty of tread left. Good heat tolerance.
RE71Rs: amazing grip considering they are '200 tw', entirely a different league from Direzza's and older 200tw tires. Wear is significantly worse than Direzza's, maybe worse that Nitto NT01's for camber challenged cars. 7 DE's, 3 hillclimbs, no autox, tires are looking pretty rough. Might get a bit more out of them, but not much more. I think not so tolerant off heat.
If I were starting out and focusing on DE and my driving skills, I'd stick to something like Direzza's or non 'S' Rivals, which are supposed to wear well. It's hard to recommend RE71Rs for DE's -- they *do* provide more grip, but will wear much faster. The RE71Rs have been great for hillclimbs as I've been able to drive to the event, drive hard and post great times, and drive home. On one 2.24 mile hillclimb I shaved a whopping 7 seconds on my previous years time, only change was a move up to RE71Rs vs. Direzza's last year.
Hope this is helpful.
