I have a fleet policy which covers an A4, Yaris and Clio 182. Checked on meerkat for an idea on price,. Privilege quoted £205 for SDP only with £1100 excess for me (50) and my wife. Fleet policy came in at £283 +£500 excess for full business use for both of us.

It's cos I'm old innit?

Renewed with Adrian Flux this time. Policy is nowhere near as nice as the Henderson Taylor one I had, but significantly cheaper. 9yrs NCB, 41yo, kept on drive, 5000 miles, 2.7, usage SD&P with no commuting. What stuck me this time is that I'm no longer working so I'm down as 'living by independent means', quite how taking commuting off my policy makes it go up, I don't really understand. Anyhow it came in at £400

My insurance is quite reasonable these days being 55. The cheapest quote on my CR fully comp was £230, however there are 2 Porsche specialists, Lockton and ManningUK who offer, agreed value, unlimited track days, any repairs by Porsche, Porsche loan car and a few other minor benefits. Both of these came in at about £500 so I'm considering going to one of them come February when renewal is due.

Hi,

Well i've actually just bought myself a cayman 2.7 981, which I should hopefully collect in december (build Confirmed November 20th with porsche). So this is a good thread for me as it goes. Having done a check on moneysupermarket.com, ive been quoted as follows:

Me, Main Driver, Company Owner, 31 Years Old
Wife, Office Manager, 29 Years Old
Residence: Harlow, Essex (a new development but a real street boy racer town)
Protected No claims
£250 Excess

Cheapeat I found was hastings direct £386.00 which surprised me. I pay more for my Audi TT [email protected] £586 with Admiral

Moved from Flux because they seemed to be fairly incompetent at doing simple things like updating the DVLA computer and telling the breakdown company that I had cover...

With Churchill now and it seems middle age has well and truly kicked in. 42 (when I re-insured it), retired (temporarily, wanted to put down 'independent means' but Churchill don't have that option. Phoned them and they put me down as retired), 7000 miles. I think I have quite a lot of xs, but I'll have to adjust that next time around. SD&P only, parked on drive, no convictions/accidents, 2.7 2007 Cayman - £190.

Worth checking with Direct Line. They don't work with the big comparison websites and have been surprised a number of times with their quotes
