Is it just me, or something unique to my area (San Francisco vicinity) that seems to show a lot more 2.7 Caymans for sale vs 3.4? I would like to have a 3.4 (S), but there are quite hard to find, and the relative abundance of the 2.7 makes me wonder if people are unloading 2.7s for some specific reasons?

For those who moved out of the 2.7, why did you do so?

I had no problem finding a 3.4 in the Bay area. I’m in Sac-town and drove all over the bay area looking at different cars. I used Auto trader, Craigslist, and the Porsche web site to find cars to look at. I ended up with a 06 with 19k miles. Just do a search daily and you’ll find one you want.

My guess is many people are simply moving to the larger engine / faster version of the Cayman. I have a 2.7, and there's nothing wrong with it at all. I love it, in fact. But I always have my eye out for the "perfect" S to come along... :)
