Could someone please check their vehicle for me and tell me if the washer fluid hose is routed the same way on their car? This is a picture of the left side of the car with the frunk open. You can see the hose in the picture that has broken off. It comes up from behind the moulding near the hinge at an awkward angle and then goes into the slot in the black bracket at the top left of the image (which is attached to the hood). To me this looks like it was begging to break off with repeated openings of the frunk (which it did) despite the ribbed/flexible area shown.

I'd like to know if mine was installed incorrectly from the factory, or if this is just a poor design and I'll need to make modifications to it once Porsche fixes it. Thanks.

Thank you. If that is the case then I think I'm going to find some appropriately-sized rubber hose and sacrifice it to the cause. I'll just replace it when I see it starting to wear.

I don't want to overly-dramatize this, but suddenly finding yourself without working windshield washers seems like a safety problem, and the design seems really bad.

Interestingly after I had the line replaced by Porsche and got my car back they hadn't even bothered to route the line through the hole in the plastic bracket. They had just left it running over the bracket and out the back. I don't know if they did this because they knew this would cause less stress on the line, or they just didn't know what they were doing.

The new line has a stiff white tube around it right where it connects with that bracket hole. Seems like Porsche made a modification to the part to hopefully prevent it from failing again.

I am going to add some vinyl tape to the line as well, but will take some pics and post the work.

You can see in the first picture the white wrap that came with the line. In the second picture you can see the ridge inside the hole that ELP referred to. I agree that this ridge is probably causing the problem - I suspect that it was hoped that the grooves in the line would slide into the slot made by the ridges but I think it just had the effect of sawing the line off with the opening and closing of the frunk.

I went ahead and removed the ridge with a sharp knife, added some vinyl tape to the area and then snugged it back into the notch in the bracket as you can see from the last picture.

Now when the frunk is opened and closed the line moves with it but stays held by the notch without moving around.
