I have the typical standard (looks almost cast?) double tipped exhaust tip on my 2008 Cayman S (NOT chrome), can anyone tell me if this thing is stainless or what it's made out of? I want to clean it up and I don't want to use the wrong thign on it. thanks!!

It is brushed stainless steel.

If you're talking about the Gen1 trapazoid tips: I use a 3m pad and WD40. Learned this from my motocross racing days.

I was lucky enough to have one of his polishing jobs on my tips - they really looked nice afterward. I use Nevr Dull to keep them clean now.

I had my original tip polished by a sponsor here (don't know if he is still one) Ralph Boothe Designs Boothe Designs | Miscellaneous basically you send him your tip and in approximately 4-5 days he returns you your tip polished....very reasonable (I believe it cost around $85 for the work and shipping)...I have since move on to a Borla system...but that is another story on to its own...:hilarious:

I dunno if Gator Bite is still polishing tips or not but I have to say that he did a great job on mine! It's become easier to clean too and, at the time, the price was pretty cheap, I'm guessing he paid off his polishing machine in no time at all.

I would guess he still is in business, you order from him and pay the fee for a newly polished tip, that also includes a core deposit fee. When it arrives, you take your old one off, and send it back with a core refund, no waiting for a tip to go and come back.
