I'd caution against Clima Repair. Far away they're halfway decent looking but the action is not as slick as stock and up close they have a very crude finish. There is a long thread about them over at the Rennlist 997 forum which I wish I had read prior to ordering my set.

They sent a bad batch of buttons a couple months ago to several customers but I bought them 3 weeks ago and they look great IMO. Seems like they have released a new version according to their website:

If only Porsche used dials similar to the radio dials above these...

Well, mine is the 'V1' version and looks similar to this picture below. It's not only the appearance that's an issue; these 3D painted buttons are also missing the small tabs in the back that lock the switches so they wobble inside the housing and one of the buttons I got was visible narrower on one end. I'd be weary about committing any more business with this vendor considering the version 1 switches were made to look good through some creative photography.

Before anyone decides to go with them I'd strongly suggest reading the long thread over at Rennlinst 997 forum. I'm not sure what the policy is from cross-linking posts so not including the link here.

Same situation as mine. here's the threads on Rennlist as well as a new thread I found on a UK Pcar forum. Notice any similarities?

Whatever repair method you use, be careful with any kind of "chemical" products on your hands i.e., sunscreen, lotions, hand sanitizer, etc. as they definitely seem to be the primary culprits along with fingernails, in causing the damage in the first place. Surprised that hasn't been addressed in any of these forum discussions.

Totally agree on that, long nails is a killer

I just ordered from Clima Repair v2. Are the switches coated with the similar soft rubber feel or is it some type of Line-x coating? I will post my results as soon as they come in. Anyone else use the v2?

On 2007-2008 Porsche introduced a new version of buttons, which do not peel because they used a different finish (not coated with soft rubber). The so called V2 buttons i got from climarepair are like those porsche introduced on 2008.

There´s a bunch of posts in other P forums regarding V2, looks like a good deal now

Hi All,

I've developed a really cheap solution to this using paint mask decals to allow you to respray a hard plastic paint finish to the switches, but retain the symbols and back-lighhting. Im selling the decals at a low cost to recover my investment and make a small profit (price just 26 USD). You can find the listing in the classifieds.

Images below.

Thanks, James
