Recently returned from a 1k road trip and just washed the car to find this yellow residue on the clear shield behind the grill. I've tried bug/tar cleaner, alcohol, WD-40, Goof Off and polishing compound. None of which did anything. Anyone have suggestions on what else to try that won't eat through the plastic.

^^^ this makes the most sense but it sure seems that goof off would have helped.... might be time for a clear shield replacement for this area??????

Ask the installer of the "clear shield" (?XPel bra) what they recommend. They may have something that will take it off without replacing the plastic.

It looks like the stock stone guard on the 987.
Unfortunately, unless the guard was well waxed, heat and acidity may have permanently etched the stain into the plastic.
If a clay bar does not work you may have to replace the guard. It's a shame how it stands out on a white car.

Correct, it's the stock stone guard. I tried some Acetone too. Didn't have any affect. It's definitely a stain and smooth so can't see clay barring would do anything but will try that tomorrow. Most likely will have to replace it.

Thanks for all your ideas.
