Re: Cayman GT4 Announced!

I don't think there is a wrong answer to the OP's question.

I'd be just fine with the black one that pops up when you initially open the configurator, at $84,600 plus $995 destination...and European delivery at Leipzig.

The A/C delete, radio delete, and the carbon-fiber bucket seats would be nice, but I'm not gonna do that.

Re: GT4 Build

Alcantara steering wheel has been covered numerous times - wear.

The track app on the chrono sucks balls. read rennlist for info for those that got it on GT3. PS - some comments but not as wide on here.

Not sure why people pay for integrated XM when a little addon is cheaper and the price difference covers years of service - plus you don't get that ugly wart on your roof.

Do you guys think PDLS $690 option is worth it?
Just read the standard equipment list, it is not standard

Re: Cayman GT4 Announced!

When I saw the GT4 press release the afternoon of Feb 3, I cancelled my GTS order five minutes later.
As luck would have it, my GTS allocation had just been confirmed the day before, which had taken three months.
Felt a little bad but not as bad as if I would have passed on the GT4. For the most part,
the GT4 was/is what I was hoping for all along. I just did not think Porsche would come through at a
price I could justify. So glad I was wrong. Now the wait starts all over again.

Hoping those 918 VIP program guys don't push our allocations back too far.

White (or Sapphire Blue)
Leather Interior, Black (Stitching in Platinum Grey)
Heated Seats
Gear Lever in Brushed Aluminum
Wing Supports in Black
Extended Gas Tank
Luggage Net
Smoking Package
Steering Wheel and Gear Lever in Leather
Sports Seats (2 way)

Total Price:* $87,515

Re: GT4 Build

I was thinking about the aluminum pedals but not sure if they are slippery compared to the stock? Can anyone comment on this? Thanks!

The configurator has been corrected to show that it's not standard, as someone already pointed out in that thread.
I personally think it's worth it, just based on the feature where it swivels the headlights into the corner.

Re: GT4 Build

I have a question about customization? Has any one done custom stitching or custom belts? Was wondering what type of cost that adds?

#2 @ Sonnen

Rhodium Silver Metallic
Partial Leather with Alcantara®, Black (Stitching in Platinum Grey)
Deletion of Model Designation
Wing Supports in Black
Sport Chrono Package incl. Porsche Track Precision App (gamble. Hoping future versions of this make it worth the $)
A/C Delete
Fire Extinguisher
Full Bucket Seats
Pedals and Footrest in Aluminum Exclusive
Radio Delete

Still thinking that maybe I should opt for the extended fuel tank.

Re: GT4 Build

Hi Everyone. Pretty basic build out. :)

Sapphire Blue Metallic
Bi-Xenon Headlights in Black incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
Wing Supports in Black
Extended Fuel Tank, 16.91 gal
Anodized Black Brushed Aluminum Interior Package i.c.w. Leather Interior
CDR Plus Audio System

Not sure on the chrono package though...the standard equip listed port "Chrono Package with "SPORT" button" and then there is the option "Sport Chrono Package incl. Porsche Track Precision App". So I'm paying $1850 for the app?

Anyway...suppose to be #2 on the list in Houston....we'll see if that's true :)

My feeling is that the fuel tank doesn't weigh much. If I track it, I can put enough petrol in to get through the 30' run sessions & save the weight. If I want to drive it to the track, I can fill it, and save the hassle of frequent fill-ups.

Re: GT4 Build

Alright... I went and configured my ideal GT4 build.

http://www.porsche-code.com/PGXUMZP0

I built it on the premise that I'm not a track-rat so I still want the creature comforts I get in my Boxster. I acknowledged the fact that the silver seat backs probably aren't a big deal in the Cayman as they're far less visible so I even left those as they are. I lament the fact that ventilated seats aren't available but again... it's a Cayman... so probably not as big a deal since you'll have the A/C going in the summer and a roof to keep that cool air in.

I've still built a car I couldn't have afforded. :D

Ah well. That was fun. :D

Re: Cayman GT4 Announced!

#3 on the list.

Fuel Cap with Aluminum Look Finish
Lightweight Bucket Seats
Seat Belts in Guards Red
Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell
Smoking Package
Center Console Trim in Carbon Fiber
Carbon Fiber Interior Package i.c.w. Standard Interior
CDR Plus Audio System

Currently chose white but undecided on that or Carrara metallic white, or sapphire blue again.

No, simply because I don't like those wash fluid nipples.
