It sounds like you are discriminating about your Porsche. If that's true just replace it. Otherwise you could remove it, unplug it and shoot it with paint from an auto store.

 

I just bought a set from Rock Auto it was on sale for less than $50.00
Looks real nice.
The switches were worn when I bought the car.
It always bugged me, but bothered the wife more.
To busy driving the car to mess with installing the switches for a while.

Haha he wants to patent the tweezers? They hang out and get in the way. I'd fashion a custom tool from a paper clip that emulates a radio din release tool.
