As long as you don't buy the $300 Ebay exhaust, you'll probably be happy with your purchase.
I bought from Top Gear in the UK.
My suggestion is to get a valved version. Quite when you're cruising around, aggressive when you feel like putting your foot down.

I can't speak personally about the Flat6 exhaust system, but if it's anything like their other products then I'm sure it's great. I have a few of their parts on my Macan and they are top notch. Jon (owner) replies to all messages.

I went from a valved Fabspeed to a valved Soul exhaust in my 981CS. Just as ICNU mentioned, the Fabspeed was more on the V8 side of things, especially with the valves open. The main reason for the switch was the drone on the Fabspeed (although I believe Fabspeed came out with a newer exhaust to in an attempt to address it). If i were to say that Fabspeed was a 10 on drone then the Soul would be about a 2 on that scale. Both are well manufactured. Maybe a slight nod to Fabspeed because it's so shiny, but who is going to be laying on the ground looking at the exhaust. If you're in socal, specifically Ventura County area I wouldn't mind meeting up so that you can hear it live.
gelo, I would love to hear your exhaust in person some day. Youtube videos don't show enough about the sound levels and small details. I'm in Camarillo. Perhaps once our local PCA starts having breakfast meets again, we can meet up? I've been leaning towards Borla because they're local. PSE would be my top choice but that much $$$ for an exhaust is hard to accept.

There might be a wrong block of info - I just went to the Top Speed site - the SS is 799, the Titanium is 1999......So I doubt seriously if you get Titanium for 720 bucks... that said, I really like both!
Correct , the SS is $1000 cheaper than the titanium version.

It's also better to go through my guys at flat6 Motorsports... better price and free shipping and NO tax!!! Super fast delivery also.

I got the the less expensive SS version from them and couldn't be happier.... sounds great and is like 1/4 of the weight on the OEM boat anchor

I found this set of headers on ebay. Made in Europe 304 stainless 14-16 gauge and there is a version with CATS as well. VERY reasonable price compared to the others which I believe come with the Por$che premium price tag. I'm not going to assume that because these are less they are inferior. I'm wondering if anyone out there has a set and we can get some feedback. TIA dlb

Hi All, I'm new to this forum.
Has anyone uses a Porsche 2013 Cayman 981 sport exhaust on a 2013 Boxter 981 2.7L 6 cylinder.

I go a Supersprint Backcat exhaust on and its very loud for street drive.
I found a 2013 Cayman OEM factory sport exhaust and want to replace with Supersprint.
Not sure if its the right think to do.
Would really like to hear your thoughts.

So I recently acquired a 981 S MT6 and other than the Bose system the only change I want to make is to the exhaust system. So which exhaust system and why? I am not gonna track the car this is just for my preference.
I have a 981 Boxster S 6MT and I went with the FVD "Quiet" CatBack Exhaust. They have two: Sport and Quiet. I am very satisfied, the "Quiet" is perfect for me, low and deep below 3,000 rpms but not loud, gets louder than OEM >3,000 rpms. Rhonda from FVD was great to deal with and their customer service was excellent. It is not "valved" but with throttle control, you can make it sound quiet and tame or loud and aggressive. I do not have a problem with drone or resonance. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I track and use for general road purposes, but my heart is track. I have Soul catless long tube headers and a Brombacher FVD Sound muffler combined with a Softronic ECU tweak. Multi-purpose Nirvana.

Here is my summary
1. Cheapest. Open top connector on stock exhaust 1 mm. Sounds great but can drone on highway.
2. Cheapest and no drone = carnewal mod. About 800 with shipping. You lose your stock exhaust, unless you buy a second one making it more expensive. Or do it yourself like I did.
3. PSE - more expensive but huge benefit of a switch and stock.
4. Various aftermarket non valved. Some drone others don’t. Need to do research.
5. Aftermarket valved. Pricey but awesome.
6. Some crazy titanium exhaust. Unnecessary and way pricey but awesome as well.

Well thanks for you reply I agree with most of it but, I was under the impression that consensus meant used or liked by most others? That is what I was looking for at the end of the day I know it will be my choice, as someone new here I thought I would ask what most others liked?
Create a poll if you want that kind of info

ICNU is a wise dude, lol. I researched and decided to replace my stock exhaust with PSE, mainly because I wanted the ability to switch it off at times. I also thought keeping it all Porsche will benefit resell value. My first impressions were that the tone was deeper than stock and I kinda didn’t like it originally. But then it mellowed and now couldn’t imagine the car without it. It’s the real Porsche sound and a lot of fun to press a switch and open it up, especially in a tunnel.
I think you mellowed, the PSE doesn’t change sound. At least not to my ears. [emoji23]

The optioned PSE to me is perfect. It's enough to make some decent noise when you want and when off you can drive through a quiet subdivision at midnight without drawing attention.
And I feel like Porsche has a lot more experience and r&d in finding to perfect sound without the negative effects the aftermarket tend to have. It’s designed from the ground up for the car.

@SoCal_981, do you still have the contact or connections at flat 6? I’d love to get this exhaust for my 981 without tax and free shipping.
Shoot me a DM if that’s easier.
