Topgear Exhaust Drone?

Hey there y’all, I’m looking to get an exhaust for my Boxster 2.7L and have been eyeing the non valved Topgear catback here, Porsche 987.1 Cayman & Boxster Cat Back with Stainless Tips. I messaged the Topgear owner and he said the non valved is the same as the valved exhaust with the valves open, so the non valved just lacks a quieter mode. Does anyone have any experience with this one or the valved version? Im mainly concerned with drone at highway speeds as I haven’t found too much discussions about it online. If you have a non valved does it drone at highway speeds? And if you have a valved does it drone with the valves open? Thanks!

Currently have a non-valved custom catback exhaust on my 981 Cayman (2.7L). Not exactly sure which one as it was installed by one of the previous owners.

It drones A LOT.

Anytime you're over 75-80mph it gets hard to hear the person in the passenger seat, as well as the music playing. Don't get me wrong I love the way my car sounds and it brings me a lot of joy when I'm ripping it on some back roads.

I work from home so it's not much of an issue for me, but if you have a lot of long highway commutes 45m+ it will get really annoying really quickly. Almost to the point where you'd want to wear noise cancelling headphones.

Hope this helps.

EVERY aftermarket exhaust is going to drone - end of story. Fact of life.

I had the Topgear valved exhaust on my Cayman and the drone with the valves open was pretty bad.

I toned it down somewhat by fitting an acoustic bass trap in the boot area and by fitting two of these in each exhaust tailpipe. They are very clever - you can adjust the volume and almost eliminate the drone - but you'll never get rid of it altogether:
