Not a 981, but in my 987, I put the sunglasses case is between the seat and the door sill. If you're the only driver and the seat doesn't get adjusted, it's a pretty safe place to hold the case. It's also easy to get to and out of sight.
See yellow circle.

Hello lithium1330;

Is that a write-ring for a 10MB reel of BlackWatch tape?

case and glasses live in the centre armrest when I'm not wearing them. My current Ray Bans have a thinner case than my last pair, but both cases fitted fine.

Yes, what solution do you mean. Solution means problem. There are no problems with storage in 981. You can store sunglasses in door pocket, central cubby, net in a passenger foot well, or glove box. 4 options to choose from. Of course it requires a case. But all good sunglasses come with case anyway...

I agree it needs a solution because there is no immediate place to put it where it's accessible while driving, mainly because there is no central console storage where I usually put mine.
My solution is my left cupholder which is always open and I just hang it there when not in use.

Both left door pockets are very easily accessable. How can they not be?

I use a sunglasses retainer strap. When driving - either on my nose or hanging around my neck. In the garage - hanging from the rear view mirror.

It is!!! I think i'll go with that little foldout door compartment. I was hoping there was something on the market the was a bit more clever, like a really slick visor mount, but they all seem cheesy.

Thanks for the input all! :beer:

Some of the other models on Amazon are less chunky, so I would think the visor could go down OK. Maybe glue a piece of felt on the clip so it wouldn't bump on the windshield.

Real silly questions... I've only had my 981 for a month and right now, the car & I aren't in the same location and won't be for a couple days; so I can't go look at it.

I had no idea that there is a hinged storage compartment door in the driver's side door panel. Anybody have a photo of it?

Somebody said they put the glasses & case in the center console compartment... When I raise the console lid, there's a black floor that is barely deep enough to hold a cell phone; it's certainly not deep enuf for a sunglasses case. Does that floor also flip up revealing a deeper compartment?

If you're looking for a visor clip, I'm very happy with the Croakies Shade Dock Visor Clip, available at amazon.com:

I have one in my daily driver and very happy with it. Initially I chose it based on all the positive reviews on amazon...

+2 for the Croakies clip. I have one in the Boxster and one in the Cayenne for glasses. Amazon purchase for me too. The front left bins also work well for "need it now" items as others have said.
