So my 2015 Cayenne LCA just randomly stopped working I took it to the dealer and they said a diagnostic check showed no signal from the rear sensors. They would need to take off the sensors and $200 later they would tell me likely what the issue is.
so of course I took the bumper off myself, pretty simple took about 15min, and saw that the rear crash bar was replaced.
Obviously it was rear ended previously. So I checked all the wires on the sensors and leading to the inside of the car module (which is on the passenger rear side panel where the speaker is located. All good no cuts or pinches.
I Disconnected both sensors and pressed the LCA button on the door, got nothing, couldn’t even adjust the brightness. Then I reconnected them and got the same fault with the ability to control the side mirror brightness. So they are definitely getting communication.
I checked all online references and the H06 models are bad there’s a service bulletin for them. H05 and H07 are not affected pcna said. These sensors are the exact same part for Audi SUVs as well as Macan and Cayenne. I found a pair at a recycled Porsche shop for $106 shipped and they guarantee they work. I’ll have them in two days so we will see. Apparently they may need to be recalibrated and they dealer said $200 to do that once I install them.
“
This bulletin applies to 958.2 Porsche Cayenne, Macan and Panamera vehicles. The customer may see a warning message in the instrument cluster that reads “Lane change assist not available, service required.” This message may be intermittent.
The technician may find one of the following fault codes in the lane change assist ECUs:
C111504 (lane change assist (slave) control unit – function restriction)
B200000 (lane change assist (master) control unit – function restriction)
PCNA is currently investigating this issue. Certain parts are affected and may demonstrate this unwanted behavior. The lane change assist ECU hardware level can distinguish potentially affected parts.
The hardware level can be determined in the VAL and on the unit itself. All affected parts are hardware level H06. Hardware levels H05 and H07 are unaffected. Hardware level H06 parts should be replaced in pairs and hardware level of both sides (left and right) should match.”
I called collision works in Arlington Texas and they replaced the rear bumper along with the crash bar. The photos showed the sensors were not replaced. So either the shock from the impact damaged the circuits or it just randomly stopped working being defective.
if anyone else has experience in this any information is greatly appreciated.
