I've looked and can find nothing on this.
Has anyone replaced the OEM horn with an after market horn ?
If so; How ?, What kind ? any problems.
My spouse does not like the anemic sounding OEM horn (the Alarm horn is OK), so I am looking for a relative easy fix.

Thanks.

I guess I have the opposite opinion, ha, I find the horn pretty harsh and blaring and the chirp of the alarm to be anemic.

I am sure an aftermarket horn exists if you're going to do it I encourage an air horn similar to a semi...that should get all the pick ups and trucks out of your way ;)

there is plenty of room to mod another horn. i have taken out the bumper before . the only problem is the sound.. the After market horns does not sound very porsche'ish.. .. Each manufacturers has their own distinct tone.. porsche, bmw, mercedes.. We do have the 1990s stock horns on the 993 that will work on the place of the horn..

porsche horns are comprised of two tones blended together.. a low at 410 hz and a high at 520 hz.

our horns on the 981 caymans has a plastic case..

the older 996 horns are made out of metal.. so go figure..

the 964 was the last horns that was in the trumpet style.. room however might be an issue.. they are the same tone but longer.. i guess louder..

any thoughts?
