A buddy and I went up into the mountains with our Caymans this morning. I have a Guards red GTS and he has a Carmine red GTS. The scenery was nice so I took a bunch of pictures of the cars together. I'm not sure how many images we have of identical cars in these two different versions of red, but I thought these might be helpful to some people.

Looking good!

The last pic in the first post is my new background.

Next time you head up to the mountains let me know, I'd love to go (more so after it warms up ;-)

Excellent spec on both cars. #savethemanuals

That is a beautiful park and 2 gorgeous machines. That park is even nicer in the warm months.
Interesting how the Carmine goes darker on a cloudy day where the Guards doesn't change much.
Would like to see them together on a sunny day.

I bet this may well help someone decide. Thanks. I've seen both in real life. To me, Guards is more in-your-face younger guy almost-Ferrari red. Carmine is quieter, more subtle, more older guy not trying to attract as much attention. It does, however, raise the question, is that relatively smaller difference worth the extra cash for Carmine--a question that can only be answered by the purchaser. Thanks again.

I agree. In a nutshell, guards is brighter and has some orange in it while carmine is darker and has some blue in it. I do like carmine and if it were an equal cost option to guards, I might order it. However for an additional $3000, carmine was not worth it to me. YMMV.

I thought that I preferred the Carmine and I do love it, but I now think that I like the GR better, and not just because that's what I have. Can't lose either way!

Thanks for the pics, nice to see them together .

Good luck on the 4.0 order! I was personally never a fan of dark wheels so black was out for me, but the PS seemed to be a good compromise for me. The PS doesnt show brake dust near as much as all of the lighter colored wheels I have had in the past. Here are the PS on my racing Yellow 981 as a reference. They look a little darker here in the shade than they appear when out in bright sunlight
