Reverse Lights not working

I have a 2007 Boxster S. The reverse lights do not work, and I get a message on the dash.
I replaced the switch on the side of the transmission, did not help.
First noticed when friend drove car and moved seat up. Sometime when I move seat position they will work again, but only for a little while. Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone know if there is another switch near the gear shift, or if the wires run under the seat.
Thanks for any help, Kurt

Reverse lights are fixed. Removed drivers seat, 4 bolts (has reverse torx, used standard 10mm socket) and 2 wire harness plugs. One is for air bag yellow, other black. May have to remove black box (2 screws) attached to bottom of seat to get to yellow one. Found a bundle of brown wires crimped together and 3 blue and black wire crimped together. The wires HAD rubber boots taped to them. The tape came undone and boots slipped off exsposing the wires. Checked wires for bare spots, taped the wires and put the boots back on, taping everything up real good. Put seat back in. Reverse lights all good.
Hopes this helps anyone that has the same problem.
