Re: The Worst Review of any Porsche I've read

in six months time will have a much better idea of whether it's possible even for Porsche to sell $70k-$80k four-cylinder turbocharged cars in sufficient numbers for this venture to be regarded as a commercial success.
Does a 5 month waiting list give you any clues? And whether you like the sound or not is EXACTLY a matter of personal preference and is totally appropriate in its own right.

Re: The Worst Review of any Porsche I've read

They need to get Steve Ballmer on board to work some of that channel-stuffing magic...
Yes we can play fun with numbers all day long to make any point we want. Here's another one -

"ATLANTA, Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- After a strong run across the first six months of 2016, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche 911, Boxster, and Cayman sports cars, Macan and Cayenne SUVs, and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up in the United States, announced July 2016 sales of 3,878 vehicles today. This represents an 18 percent decrease in vehicle deliveries compared to July 2015. Year-to-date, sales stand at 30,586 which equates to a year-over-year increase of 2.4 percent.

Sports car demand was strong across the board with Boxster and Cayman model lines each yielding a 36 percent sales increase over last year, with 732 combined sales."

Re: The Worst Review of any Porsche I've read

Yes the interpretation game continues. I will go with a Porsche press release saying "Sports car demand was strong across the board...".

Re: The Worst Review of any Porsche I've read

I asked the dealer to change the auto engine off so it stayed in the last position and they said to meet the environment requirements Porsche made the engine off as the default and they could not change it. From what I have heard, the main reason for most car makers are going to turbo 4's was to meet the new environmental standards, not because they wanted the turbo 4. The environmentalists are now controlling the world.
Yes emission standards which makes sense to a lot of people. "The environmentalists are now controlling the world" is just silly.

I am not rooting against it, but I certainly don't feel obligated to root for it. I simply do not care. If it succeeds, fine. If it bombs, Porsche has nobody to blame but
itself.
Yeah kinda obvious.

Incorrect.
"tone of posts" is perception of the reader and correct by definition

I'm somewhat more bullish on their hypothetical future hybrids.
And combine that with " The Chinese government makes no secret that it prefers “new energy vehicles” with lower carbon emissions than conventional cars. That definition covers hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicles" I think you're on to something.

It's just a question of time when Porsches will offer the same gadgets that are currently found on cars like the E series MB. You don't have to worry about blind spots when driving the MB. Want to change lanes? No problem. Just push the directional changer and the car will change lanes for you. It will also steer for you as you travel down the highway. Within ten years there will be no need for a driver's input, other than to input the destination into the car's computer.
Let's hope so anyway. Love having options.
