Ideally, I'm looking for the easiest way to drain my oil. I know when using the ramps, you can't get a full drain. So, I was hoping to find a central jacking point in the rear to raise it...throw the jack stands under the back and pull the drain plug...then remove the jack stands and lower the car to drain level.

I bought a set of Liftbars. They work great, jack one side onto jack stands, then the other side. pretty easy. The lift bars rest right on top of the jack stands.

bigmoguls,
I have a system with four Unijacks and a floor jack that works but takes a little bit longer than I would like. I have looked at the Liftbars but did not see a measurement of how much distance they leave for a floor jack. I have PASM which lowers the car 10mm so I have about 4-1/2" clearance from the ground and a low profile floor jack that is 2-1/2". Are the Liftbars more that 2" deep to avoid running the tires up on wood blocks? How deep are the Liftbars?

My car has x73 and I can't fit the lift bars underneath at all. I should sell mine since one time I was trying to raise the car the lift bars on the other side slipped. Probably user error though!

I have wondered about this exact situation and why I never took the plunge for these. Even the lowest setting for a stand it preeeetty high to be leaving half the car up sideways then try to lift the rest of the car. Seems a little sketchy.

I got a pair of lift bars a while back. My floor jack is a bit aged and is not as low-profile as the newer floor jacks. To compensate I drive my Boxster up onto a couple of 2x6 board planks..gives me just enough room to slide the floor jack under the lift bars. One of these days I'll buy a nice new low-profile floor jack :)

My Quickjack lift has been the best $1,000 I have ever spent. Yes it's more expensive up front, but has allowed to me do so many things on my own much more easily and safely now vs sending the car to my Indy. It already paid for itself in less than 2 years between oil changes, coils, exhaust swaps and tip mods. Brakes will be coming up soon as well as a second plug change so its all gravy from now on and saving me money.

My car has H&R sport springs so even lower than X-73. Im exactly 4" from the jackpoints to the floor and there is still room to get the lift under the car along with the Quickjack short rubber blocks and lift pucks inserted into the car. It's also very handy when detailing my car as sit on a rolling mechanics seat to do the sides and lower portion of the car when using my orbital buffer rather than having to crawl around on my hands and knees

That's a great idea, just would prefer not to spend over $350!

Christmas gift idea though...thanks!

My car has PASM as well. I do run the car up on four, 2"x10" with rubber on the bottom to keep the blocks from slipping. This does 2 things, 1 it is easier to fit the Lift Bars under the car while the lift bar is on the jack and 2 reduces the lift of one side to avoid the issue @redvancitycayman mentioned.

I considered the Quick Jack product and I would prefer that, but I have enough tools in my garage that they were not my desired option.

We are looking to relocate, my goal is to have a lift in that house.
